Maxwell - Caswell Finley

Caswell F. Maxwell, aged 63 years died this morning at 3:30 o'clock at his home on the corner of Gibson an Chestnut Streets. The funeral occur tomorrow at two o'clock intermet at Oak Hill. Mr. Maxwell was a native of Salem, Indiana and resided there until March 1877 when he came to this county. During the war, he served in Co. L 9th In cavalry and was a good soldier. he was marr. 44 years ago and his wife with 11 children, survive him. His living children are: Silas, John, Alexander, Luther, George, Ed, Jacob, Thomas, Annie and Hattie and Mrs. Amanda Stephler of Anderson. All the sons reside in this county and all are voters, being as their father was, Democrats. Mr. Maxwell was a man who had never been sick until seized by his fatal illness. He was a man generally respected and highly esteemed.

C.F. Maxwell, a resident of the county for over 20 years died at his home on Gibson St on Tues morning. He was the father of 11 children, all of whom are living and most of them residing in this county. During the war he served as a soldier in the 9th In Cavalry. His fun. occured on Wednesday afternoon.

C.F. Maxwell, age 63 years, died last night at his home corner Perry and Gibson streets. He had been ill but a few days and as late as 6 o'clock last evening was able to be up and about the house. The physicians state that death was due to inflamation of the tonsils. He leaves a wife and 11 children. A short funeral service will be conducted at the residence at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment at Oak Hill.
